Experience the Credit Union Difference!

edU Federal Credit Union (edUFCU) is a not-for-profit financial institution operated entirely for the benefit of its members. Profits are returned to the members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan and credit card rates, and fewer or lower fees.

Who Can Join

We invited a number of groups to join the credit union, including:

  • Current employees of any school in New Castle County, Delaware (public, private, parochial, higher-ed)
  • Retirees of any school in New Castle County, Delaware (public, private, parochial, higher-ed)
  • Students of public schools in the six New Castle County school districts (Appoquinimink, Brandywine, Christina, Colonial, NCC Vo Tech and Red Clay Consolidated)
  • Immediate family members of all of existing edUFCU members, including people living within your household. Immediate family members include parents, children, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren. In-law and step family members are eligible too!

Once a member, always a member!

Once you join the credit union, you can remain a member as long as you’d like — even if you are no longer in a New Castle County school or have retired.

How to Join

Becoming a member is simple! Visit one of our branch locations to complete an application. You will also need:

  • Your Driver’s License or other government-issued photo ID
  • Your most recent pay stub for proof of employment (This is only needed if your eligibility is through employment and not through a family member.)
  • A $10.00 minimum initial deposit
  • A $2.00 one-time membership fee

Kids Get Special Treatment

Nothing makes us happier than helping to start a child off right with credit union membership! That’s why we waive the fee and deposit requirement for new membership for children under 1 year of age and kids adopted within the past year. What’s even better — we’ll make a $5 deposit for the child!

Become a Valued Member

Members who take advantage of multiple credit union benefits are considered “Valued Members” and enjoy reduced rates on most loans. Request these additional services to become a Valued Member:

You can request these additional services when you apply for your membership. As the primary accountholder on each, you’ll receive a 1/2% APR* reduction from our already competitive loan rates.
