Not all checking accounts are alike. Trust your credit union to have your best interests in mind — you are one of our owners after all. Our checking accounts have no minimum balance requirement, no monthly fee and no per-check fee.
We also offer online banking, online bill pay and mobile banking at no cost too! You are automatically enrolled in online banking when you join the credit union. A monthly statement will be mailed to members with a Checking Account, but you may elect to receive eStatements instead.
Members with at least $10 in a Share Savings Account may open a Checking Account. Members under age 18 may also open a Checking Account but are required to have an adult joint account owner.
Visit one of our branch locations to open your Checking Account. Your initial deposit must cover the cost of your checks plus shipping. Once your order is processed, you should receive your checks within 10 to 14 days.
You may also apply by mail. Send your notarized application and check or money order for your deposit to:

New Castle, DE 19720
Be sure to request a Debit Card when you open your Checking Account. You can use it for purchases anywhere Visa is accepted to make purchases from your Checking Account.
You can also use your Debit Card for cash withdrawals at any ATM from your savings or checking account, and never pay a fee to your credit union. Just remember, some ATM owners may charge you a fee. Check out our ATM locations to find a surcharge-free ATM near you.
Avoid the lines and the wait. Have your paycheck automatically deposited into your checking account each pay period, often sooner than you would typically receive your paper check! You can also put your savings and loan payments on autopilot with payroll allocation.
Contact your Human Resources Department to set up Direct Deposit to edUFCU today! You just need to provide them with following information:
State School Employees can download the State of Delaware Direct Deposit Authorization Form with edUFCU information pre-populated. Complete the form and submit to your Human Resources Department.
For other school employee payroll allocation, or to modify an existing payroll allocation setup, please call or visit the credit union.
We understand mistakes can happen. Should you overdraft your Checking Account, the credit union will automatically transfer available funds from your Share Savings Account to cover the draft. There is no charge for this service. However, if there are not sufficient funds available in the Share Savings Account, the draft will be returned and a non-sufficient funds (NSF) fee of $30.00 per draft will be charged to your share draft account.
For additional overdraft protection, we offer an Overdraft Line of Credit. You can avoid NSF fees and the potential of having your checking account closed excessive overdrafts (six in a 12-month period). The protection costs nothing to establish, and you will only pay interest on the funds used should you experience an overdraft that can not be covered by your savings.
